Weapon Take-Aways

Self-defense can be hard to get into, but starting is half the battle and you’ll quickly fall in love with it.

Our own Wyatt Stimpson of Honey Badger Defense put on a weapon take-away seminar for us and it was so much fun. The main mentality is simple. Take control of the weapon and aggressor, point the weapon away from you, then use joint pressure or brute force to take the weapon.

For most scenarios you run into in real life, it only takes understanding the basics to give yourself and your safety a significant edge. Use this as your sign to try out Jiu-jitsu or take your safety into your own hands.

Through this simple breakdown we were able to learn the steps necessary to take control of our safety in a high risk scenario. Incredibly easy to practice at home and teach your loved ones too. It’s difficult to show the exact breakdown in an article like this. If you want to learn more. Run into Wyatt, he always has a training gun nearby to teach the basics.
